Ignition

What type of charcoal should I use?

For the best results, it is recommended to use natural lump charcoal. The Fast Flame Ignition System™ can also light briquettes, however due to the large variances in ingredients used by different manufacturers, we cannot guarantee their ignition time.

How do I ignite the charcoal?

Charcoal can be ignited via The Fast Flame Ignition System™.

Charcoal can also be ignited manually with natural fire starters on the unit or lit via a charcoal chimney and transferred into the unit.

Can I add more charcoal while cooking?

Yes.

Is the lid on the HUB™ designed to place on top to snuff out the coals?

It is not recommended to use the lid to snuff out the coals. Once cooled, you can remove the used coals into a Hot Coal Bin. You can put this remaining ash onto the garden or dispose of in the bin.

Where should I store my HUB™?

Will the cover keep my HUB™ dry?

Our grill covers are water-resistant and are made of 425 GSM UV protected material with a water-resistant lining. Please be aware that humidity and condensation can form between the cover and the grill depending on your climate and location. It is important to remove the cover and wipe the grill down once a month to remove any excess moisture that has potentially built-up during storage.

Troubleshooting

Where can I find basic troubleshooting information?

Basic Troubleshooting information on the HUB™ can be found within the user manual.

What do I do if the appliance "trips" the Residual Current Sensitive Device (RCD) / Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)?

1. Unplug the appliance and try another socket location.

2. If using an extension cord, plug the appliance into a socket without the extension cord.

3. If the appliance has recently been exposed to wet conditions, place indoors and allow time to dry.

4. If the appliance continues to trip when used with different socket locations, contact our customer care team HERE

There is a noise coming from the motor, is this normal?

The motor may, on occasion, produce an operating noise. To help reduce this, apply a small amount of lubricant spray into the motor drive shaft before using it for the first time.

To help maintain the motor during times of regular use, it is recommended to add a small amount of lubricant spray once a month. To help maintain a smooth rotation, please clean regularly with a damp cloth.
